​1. Policy Statement

1.1 The Professional Pickleball Association of Hong Kong (PPAHK) is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment for all members, coaches, athletes, staff, volunteers, and visitors.

1.2 Sexual harassment is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

2. Definition of Sexual Harassment

2.1 Sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to:

• Physical harassment: Unwelcome physical contact, such as touching, patting, or pinching

• Verbal harassment: Unwelcome sexual comments, jokes, innuendos, or propositions

• Non-verbal harassment: Displaying sexually explicit materials, leering, or making obscene gestures

• Quid pro quo harassment: Making employment, training opportunities, or other benefits conditional on sexual favors

• Hostile environment: Creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment through sexual conduct

 

3. Scope

3.1 This policy applies to:

• All PPAHK members

• Coaches and officials

• Athletes

• Staff and volunteers

• Contractors and vendors

• Visitors to PPAHK events and facilities

3.2 This policy applies to all PPAHK activities, including:

• Training sessions

• Competitions and events

• Committee meetings

• Social gatherings

• Online communications

4. Prevention Measures

4.1 Training and Education:

• All coaches must complete sexual harassment prevention training

• Regular awareness programs for members and staff

• Clear communication of this policy to all stakeholders

4.2 Safe Environment:

• Appropriate supervision at all activities

• Private changing facilities

• Clear codes of conduct

4.3 Risk Assessment:

• Regular review of potential risk situations

• Implementation of appropriate safeguards

 

5. Reporting Procedures

5.1 Any person who experiences or witnesses sexual harassment should report it immediately to:

• The designated Safeguarding Officer

• Any member of the Executive Committee

• The Secretarial Office

5.2 Reports can be made:

• In person

• In writing (email or letter)

• By telephone

5.3 All reports will be treated confidentially and sensitively.

 

6. Investigation and Response

6.1 All reports of sexual harassment will be:

• Taken seriously

• Investigated promptly and thoroughly

• Handled with sensitivity and confidentiality

6.2 The respondent will be:

• Informed of the allegation

• Given the opportunity to respond

• Subject to precautionary measures if necessary

 

7. Support for Affected Persons

7.1 PPAHK will:

• Provide support and assistance to affected persons

• Refer to professional counseling services if needed

• Protect against retaliation

 

8. Disciplinary Action

8.1 If an allegation is substantiated, disciplinary action may include:

• Written warning

• Mandatory counseling or training

• Suspension of membership or registration

• Permanent exclusion from PPAHK

• Reporting to relevant authorities

9. False Allegations

9.1 Making false or malicious allegations of sexual harassment is a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action.
