Course Syllabus & Teaching Guide

This course is exclusively designed for individuals aspiring to pursue a professional career in pickleball instruction. Through systematic training, this program guides advanced players in transitioning into certified, world-class coaches. The curriculum is fully aligned with the IPTPA (International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association) Level 1 assessment standards. Upon completing this intensive 18-hour training, participants will gain the confidence to ace the certification exam and kickstart their professional coaching career.

. Course Objectives

The core objective of this course is to establish your professional authority in pickleball instruction. By deeply cultivating three key dimensions—Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude—participants will achieve the following:

  • Master Official Standards: Gain a profound understanding of IPTPA-certified technical standards, game rules, and instructional logic.

  • Pass International Certification: Receive targeted, intensive preparation for the three pillars of the IPTPA Level 1 assessment (Written Exam, Skills Test, and Lesson Observation).

  • Elevate Your Career: Transition from being just a "player" to becoming a highly competitive "professional coach," mastering the core competencies of classroom management and student engagement.

Participants must proficiently master and demonstrate the 23 core elements required in the IPTPA Level 1 skills test. The course will precision-refine the following techniques:

  • Dinks & Volleys: Including straight-ahead and cross-court forehand/backhand dinks, as well as "windshield wiper" lateral movement control.

  • 3rd Shot Drops: Mastering the technique of accurately dropping the ball into the opponent's Non-Volley Zone from the baseline.

  • Serves & Returns: Emphasizing the combination of depth, angle, and consistency.

  • Groundstrokes & Overheads: Mastering the correct swing path and power mechanics.

  • Offensive Lobs: Demonstrating threatening lob techniques initiated from the Non-Volley Zone.

3.  Professionalism, Attitude & Class Management

(Focus: Effective Teaching and Leadership)

  • Pacing & Time Management: Learning how to allocate class time effectively to balance instructional progress with practice intensity.

  • Error Analysis & Real-time Correction: Developing a keen eye to quickly identify students' mechanical flaws and offer effective corrective feedback.

  • Shaping Your Personal Coaching Style: Through observation and self-assessment, we help you discover your teaching strengths and build a unique coach branding image.
